The building is located in the historic center of Nicosia, in the Trypioti area. It is a sample of urban traditional architecture, with its enclosed balcony projecting above the narrow street. It a typical typology of urban architecture of the early 20th century, with the marble staircase at the entrance, leading to the first floor. The building consists of stone load-bearing walls on the ground floor and brick on the first floor.
The design proposal consists of small strategic moves that emphasize the main characteristics and at the same time enhance a comfortable residential environment. The design proposal offers new relationships between the building interior with the limited and precious outdoor space and the street. The introduction of natural lighting, as well as in the materiality of the refurbished and new surfaces become part of the refurbishment.
