Socrates Stratis invited to participate to the Quartet in Urbanism in the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna

The Urban Quartet consisted of four seminars in which two invited people discussed with Vienna city representatives animated by Bernd Vlay, Visiting Professor at the Academy. People participating:Aglaee Degros, Didier Rebois, Kaye Geipel, Eyal Weizman, Ines Weizman.

Socrates participated in the Urban Mobilities seminar and the title of the presentation was: Designerly translocalities: between Urban Stories and Fairy Tales. Socrates introduced the notion of translocality as a dynamic relation between mobility and place by refering to former Europan winning projects, examples from the Vienna area and to some of the "Urban-A-Where" activities that he had curated. More specifically he refered  to Europan projects in Bordeaux France, Warsaw Polland, Halle Germany and to the "Magic Carpet" project designed and implemented by AA&U as well as to the "Go Natural At Your Own Risk" game both UAW activities.
